Hawker Hurricane Mk IA
126 Squadron Takali, Malta
Royal Air Force

This is the Hurricane flown by Sgt W.D. Greenhalgh of 126 Squadron, HA-D Z2491, shot down while strafing Comiso Airfield on 24 November 1941. He became a prisoner. See page 337 of Malta, the Hurricane Years.

Steve Day and Edward both asked that I create a Volkes tropical filter equipped Hurricane model (intended for Emils' and Prune's upcoming Med and Malta campaigns)

So here is an earlier version Mk Ia Hurricane. The original model I started out with was Capitan Manduca's with non mirroring upgrades from Ghostboy.

Edward made this skin for the new model, using Tom Murphy (Shadow Dragon)'s blank Hurricane skin.

It's dangerous for me to do little add ons to a model, because I can't seem to just make a simple addition anymore without going over the models to improve them. So the new Hurricane has the prop thrustline raised, the nose reshaped, the fuselage lengthened, oil cooler profile smoothed, tail planes reshaped, the upper fuselage contours lowered, etc.
This was all done quick and dirty, so it is still not a perfect Hurricane model. But it's a worthwhile improvement along with adding the Volkes tropical filter.

The markings are designed to use in Emil's Mediterranean Campaign. To use, unzip the *.tpc files and the *.3dz files and place in your EAW directory.

Cheers
